Folderbird for the enterprise

Give your team the same personal‑cloud access to their own machines — deployed the way your security team needs it. Run it inside your own walls, inside your own Azure tenant, or let us host and manage it for you.

Three ways to deploy

Pick what fits your compliance posture. In every case, files stay on your own machines and access stays fully under your control.

Self-hosted

On‑premise

YOUR NETWORK / DATA CENTER no external link FOLDERBIRD SERVER Web app · SignalR · API / MCP PostgreSQL users · devices Redis queue · state · keys Object storage (Azure Blob API) optional — API & MCP file transfers your VMs, Docker or Kubernetes Your team's PCs Folderbird app

Object storage is only needed for the REST API / MCP file transfers and for running more than one web node — the browser path streams straight through the server. It currently speaks the Azure Blob API; we'll scope the right store for your environment. Leave it out and those endpoints simply report that transfers aren't configured.

Run the entire Folderbird server inside your own network or data center. It never connects out to us, so there's no external link to secure — everything stays within your own perimeter. Built for regulated and zero‑trust environments.

  • Web app + PostgreSQL + Redis on your own VMs, Docker or Kubernetes
  • Your infrastructure, your keys, your backups, your control
  • No connection to Folderbird — licensed by a signed offline file
  • Restricted & zero‑trust networks — air‑gap hardening scoped during onboarding
Single-tenant · Azure

Dedicated instance

YOUR MICROSOFT AZURE TENANT AZURE YOUR VNET Single-tenant Folderbird PostgreSQL Redis Blob storage Azure PaaS in your subscription — we run it Your team

The instance and its three backing services — Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure Cache for Redis and Blob Storage — are all provisioned in your subscription and region, so they appear on your bill and under your own audit and retention policies. We operate them for you.

We provision a private, single‑tenant Folderbird instance inside your own Microsoft Azure tenant. Your data stays in the Azure subscription and region you choose — it never shares infrastructure with any other customer, which is what most data‑sovereignty and residency requirements come down to.

  • Runs in your own Azure tenant — your subscription, your region, your billing
  • Isolated single‑tenant instance — no shared infrastructure
  • We provision & maintain it; you keep ownership of the environment and its data
  • Reachable only through your existing Azure VNet / VPN
Managed

SaaS — managed cloud

FOLDERBIRD (MANAGED BY US) Folderbird cloud PostgreSQL · Redis · object storage hosted, patched and backed up by us — nothing for you to run YOUR NETWORK Your team's PCs files never leave them

The link between us is encrypted end to end. If you'd rather route it over a VPN, private link, or IP allow‑list, that's a connection your own network team sets up and controls — we're happy to connect through whatever you already run.

We host and operate Folderbird for you — up and running fast, with nothing to maintain.

  • Fully managed & kept up to date
  • Single sign‑on (SSO/SAML) with your identity provider
  • IP allow‑listing & full audit logs
  • Onboarding & a dedicated contact

No open ports. No firewall changes.

Each PC runs the Folderbird app, which makes only outbound HTTPS connections to the server — the same direction as ordinary web browsing. There are no inbound ports to open, no port‑forwarding, no VPN client to roll out, and nothing for your network team to reconfigure: machines behind NAT, strict corporate firewalls, or on hotel Wi‑Fi and LTE are reachable the moment the app signs in. Users simply open folderbird.com — or your own deployment's address — in a browser.

Let's scope your deployment

Tell us your team size, compliance needs, and how you want to connect, and we'll put together the right setup — on‑premise, a dedicated instance, or managed.
